The Las Vegas strip. Historically known for it’s gambling and live entertainment, this blvd. has gradually become 4.2 miles of the ultimate party scene. Life gets busy as a local out here, and sometimes months can go by without venturing out. This past weekend we helped our good friend Willard celebrate his birthday on the strip. It reminded me of how lucky I am to live only 15 minutes away from this lit destination. Join me as I back track through the night, and I’ll drop some Vegas tips for you to pick up as we go!
The festivities began with an excellent dinner with at STK in the Cosmopolitan. I love the chic vibes at this restaurant. If it’s a busy night, reservations are a must! I suggest arriving at least 20-30 minutes before your reserved time. Make sure that your whole party is present to be seated, also, or else you might risk the chance of losing your table. If you’ve been to an STK restaurant before, you’re probably aware of their well known steak selection. Not in the mood for meat? You can always have what I ordered: day boat scallops placed ever so gently on top of risotto cake made by gods. It was that good.
After dinner we made our way to our next destination at the Cromwell. It just so happened to be the Billboard Music Awards official after party at Drais Nightclub. Valet is free practically anywhere you go, but on a busy night like this the line could seem endless. There’s always free parking within walking distance, so we decided to go that route. Drais is one of my top favorites on the strip for two reasons: atmosphere and hiphop performers. You really can have the best of both worlds. If you’re someone who’s wild and loves to rage with crowds, I recommend the indoor portion of the club. The venue then opens into the pool area. Here, the party still continues, yet you can also chill and enjoy awesome views of the strip. This is where we booked our cabana. Booking a table in Vegas comes easy. To sum it up, you either pay the right price, know the right people, or know the right amount of attractive females to accompany you.
“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end!” Semisonic? No? Okay, anyway… the party never ends in Vegas. When one place closes, another opens. Around 3am the majority of the party goers head to what Drais is originally known for, Drais After Hours. You’ll witness some double takes at this venue. Some like to refer to it as the “twilight zone”. I promise you though, that you’re going to have some of the most fun you’ve ever had a this spot. That might sound a little biased coming from a current employee, but take it from the version of me who partook in the fun before it became a job. A good way to coast through the night is to try and pace yourself. Mix your drinks with water to keep hydrated. Then once you get to After Hours, let loose. By the time the lights come on, the sun has risen and its time for breakfast!
That was our evening in a nutshell. If it didn’t tickle your fancy, I guess you’ll just have to come visit and experience it for yourself! Check the link below to save some cash on the best Vegas attractions during your next adventure. The excitement awaits!
