Growing up I recall evenings spent splurging on movies and Lays potato chips. I believe my dad’s term for it was “couch potato”. Lately I’ve been acting the same way. Except the chips are now replaced with something green or healthy. If you knew me as a child, you know that the chips didn’t work out so well with my appearance.
Anyway, this past week my friend Jose invited my sister and I out for his birthday. I was half tempted to tell him I had recently become paralyzed on my couch. Instead, we motivated ourselves and ventured to a place in Downtown Vegas called Common Wealth. There was a line out the door with cheesy looking bouncers, but you could clearly see through the window that this bar was empty. I’m thinking, “Wth, why are we here?” We finally got inside and spent a few minutes at bar #1. Then we discovered secret awesome rooftop bar #2. There were way more people kicking it! The DJ played everything from old school to newly released hiphop. Each corner held a different workshop for artists to come and display/sell their talent. My sis and I met some cool people, and had so much fun.
Right now you’re probably thinking, “Okay, cool story. Can’t believe I just waisted two minutes reading that, but whatever”. My point is this: Get off the couch. Go somewhere different! I now have a new favorite Thursday night spot. I never would’ve known about it if I didn’t tell myself to get up that one time and live a little. So bye! Stop reading this, and go do something spontaneous. 🙂
